Fluminense Football Club hosted the 'Game for the Climate', an event that marked the opening of Environmental Week, aiming to bring together people and organizations working towards sustainability. The event, which had as its objective to gather people and organizations working towards sustainability, counted with a commemorative match with the presence of sports personalities, journalists and artists sympathetic to the cause. 'It's an honor for Fluminense to host this event, the Game for the Climate, in partnership with Globo, Onda Solidária and Player Zero, from Portugal. We aim to bring top initiatives to the club, to work on football and sustainability. We are conducting several internal researches to see what we are doing today in terms of sustainability and what we need to do to certify the club, which is a pioneer in this theme. We have the green of hope and we will have the green of sustainability too, we are all together for the climate here at Fluminense', declared Ricardo Calçado, Sustainability Director of Fluminense. The day started with an opening ceremony at the club's Salão Nobre and, shortly after, the 'Game for the Climate' began at the historic Estádio de Laranjeiras. On the stands, more than 500 children from the social projects Onda Solidária and Profesp formed the match's fan club. Cacau, the female football player from the tricolor, and Tartá, the ex-player and commentator of FluTV, were the representatives of Fluminense in the match and spoke about the importance of actions like this. 'Being here representing Fluminense is very important. Being part of a cause as important as this is very nice. Football unites all ethnicities, all groups and can even unite the world. It's for this important cause that I'm here today', said Cacau. After the match, the guests returned to the Salão Nobre for a panel on environment and sustainability, where the launch of the Player 0 and Plante Gols projects took place, as well as lectures and a chat about the theme.
